ADM centers on gut health, functional ingredients and targeted nutrition management, with the release of its Pet Longevity Trend Report.
ADM showcased its latest science-based nutrition innovations at the 28th Pet Fair Asia 2026 under the theme “Science-Based Nutrition for a Healthier Pet Future.”
At the show, the company introduced gut and immune functional solutions for dog and cat food for the first time, supporting pet food innovation with science-based formulations.
ADM pet food brand TOTAL EQUILÍBRIO VETERINARY® launched a complete low-fat, easy-to-digest veterinary diet for adult dogs.
ADM’s Pet Longevity Trend Report was released alongside the show, offering a global consumer perspective on pets’ long-term health needs and their implications for product innovation and feeding choices.
At booth E5B51, ADM showcased customized premixes, functional solutions and microbiome ingredients for industry customers. ADM’s pet-family-facing brands and products, including TOTAL EQUILÍBRIO VETERINARY®, SANPO®, Minino® and PROTEXIN Veterinary®, were featured alongside.
Pierre Domps, ADM’s Pet Nutrition Director for Asia Pacific, said: “Pet nutrition needs are becoming increasingly specific and diverse. For customers, innovation is not only about identifying new ingredients, but also about bringing them more efficiently into formulation and production, supported by reliable quality management, traceability and scientific substantiation. For pet parents, products need to better address pets’ different life stages and feeding needs. ADM aims to connect consumer insights, nutritional science and application development, translating new nutrition concepts into market-ready products while responding, through its brands, to the evolving feeding needs of pet families.”
Supporting functional product development through customized blends
Functional pet foods often require the simultaneous use of multiple nutritional ingredients. Beyond the formulation itself, factors such as ingredient stability, sourcing, storage, weighing and dosing all influence product development and production efficiency.
ADM’s new line of functional solutions is built around innovative ingredients and customized blending. The line integrates multiple functional ingredients into tailored solutions aligned with different product positioning and application needs. More flexible packaging specifications and minimum order quantities also help reduce the complexity of purchasing, storing and using multiple ingredients separately.
As the first product in this line, the functional blend is designed to support gut and immune system health in dogs and cats, strengthen intestinal barrier function, help reduce fecal odor and promote overall health and vitality. The solution combines two ADM proprietary ingredients, Fibersol® soluble dietary fiber and PRIOME® GH Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347 postbiotic — with other functional ingredients, while allowing customers to adapt the solution flexibly according to different formulations and market needs.
For this specific combination of ingredients, a randomized controlled study conducted by ADM and China Agricultural University showed that supplementation with PRIOME® GH Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347 postbiotic and Fibersol® soluble dietary fiber during an abrupt diet change in adult cats can support intestinal barrier function, gut microbiota balance and gastrointestinal immune function. ADM also supports customers from formulation development through to production application with its food safety and quality management systems, barcode-based batch traceability and laboratory testing capabilities.
In addition to functional solutions, ADM also showcased customized premixes and microbiome ingredients. Backed by a team of scientists, nutritionists, veterinarians and formulation specialists, as well as 13 R&D and application research centers globally, ADM collaborates with customers on ingredient selection, formulation design and application development to help bring product concepts to market.
Professional nutrition for more specific feeding needs
Among pet families, nutrition needs are also becoming increasingly segmented. Beyond complete and balanced daily nutrition, pet parents are paying closer attention to whether products are suited to a pet’s life stage, body condition and specific nutritional needs.
While supporting industry partners in product innovation, ADM also translates its long-standing nutritional science capabilities into product solutions that better meet the needs of pet families through its brands, further addressing more refined feeding needs across different health scenarios.
ADM’s TOTAL EQUILÍBRIO VETERINARY® complete low-fat, easy-to-digest veterinary diet for adult dogs made its official debut as a new product at this year’s Pet Fair Asia. Designed for dogs with sensitive digestive systems or pancreatitis, or those requiring low-fat, easy-to-digest nutritional support, the product centers on a low-fat formula and highly digestible protein, with a comprehensive nutritional design that helps support digestive health and overall well-being.
At the same time, ADM brands such as TOTAL EQUILÍBRIO VETERINARY®, SANPO®, Minino® and PROTEXIN Veterinary® form a diversified product matrix spanning professional nutrition and targeted formulations, daily feeding, multidimensional health for dogs and cats, and nutritional supplementation and precision health support. Together, they give pet parents a broad range of product choices that combine nutritional value with pet palatability.
Driving pet nutrition innovation through global insights
Released alongside this year’s show, the Pet Longevity Trend Report draws on a survey of pet parents in China, France, Mexico, the UK and the US. It explores how pets’ long-term health needs are shaping daily feeding habits and product choices, offering reference points for product development and customer innovation.
The survey found that 71% of global pet parent respondents actively look for products that can help support their pets’ long-term health, while 65% are interested in functional ingredients such as probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics. Digestive and gut health also ranks among the top health concerns for aging pets among pet parents globally.
Chinese respondents not only place strong importance on pet longevity and quality of life but also show a high willingness to try new ingredients and new product formats. The report indicates that in the China market, pet longevity is gradually moving from an aspiration to more concrete product needs and purchasing behaviors.
For the industry, this means pet parents’ expectations for pets to live longer, higher-quality lives are increasingly translating into more specific needs around digestive health, functional nutrition and healthy body condition, while also prompting greater attention to the scientific substantiation and quality assurance behind products. For ADM, these insights will further inform formulation research, product development and customer collaboration. The functional blend and low-fat, easy-to-digest new product launched at the show respectively respond to industry customers’ product development needs and pet families’ specific feeding scenarios, demonstrating ADM’s ability to translate pet nutrition insights into products and solutions.
During the show, ADM will host several new product launches and interactive sessions, including a launch event for its functional solution focused on pet gut health on August 19 and a launch event for the TOTAL EQUILÍBRIO VETERINARY® complete low-fat, easy-to-digest veterinary diet for adult dogs on August 20. ADM pet nutrition experts will share insights on science-backed nutrition and formulation applications onsite.
Industry partners, professional visitors and consumers are welcome to visit booth E5B51 to exchange views with ADM’s pet nutrition team on pet nutrition trends, product innovation and health management solutions.
From consumer insights, functional ingredients and formulation applications to branded products for pet families, ADM is connecting different parts of the pet nutrition value chain. Looking ahead, ADM will continue working with customers and industry partners to translate its understanding of pets’ long-term health needs into more science-based, more targeted and market-ready nutrition innovations.
