In the past weeks, farmers in Argentina concluded wheat sowing activities for the 2023/24 season, encompassing a total land area of 6 million hectares. This information was disclosed by the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. Additionally, the exchange raised concerns about the emergence of dry conditions that are starting to impact the wheat crop in the northern region of the country.

Regarding the 2022/23 corn season, the Exchange mentioned that the dry conditions favored the corn harvesting tasks, with 80.9% of the harvest already completed. The expected production is 34 million tons due to a historic drought that impacted the country last year.
Concluding the updates, the Grain Exchange announced the initiation of sunflower planting for the 2023/24 season, encompassing a projected land area of 1.95 million hectares. This marks a decrease from the 2.2 million hectares planted in the preceding season.
