Malaysia-based Pet World Nutritions has introduced a new traceability initiative where every single bag of its dry pet food will carry its own unique, serialized QR code.
This project grew out of a simple but demanding question from the company’s production and R&D teams: What would it take to make every claim we make about quality, safety, and sourcing something a pet parent could verify instantly from their own phone?
“The answer is the system we have just launched,” the company said.
Printed directly onto the packaging at the final stage of the production process, with a system that is deeply integrated into the manufacturing line itself, batch by batch, bag by bag.

Once a pet parent brings a bag of Pet World’s dry food home, the unique QR code on their pack unlocks a real-time, continuously updated data record tied specifically to that batch.
A single scan reveals:
