Natac: Advancing Sustainability and Innovation in Animal Nutrition
At the closing day of the 10th edition of EuroTier in Hanover, NutriNews International sat down with Max Vallot, Global Feed Division Manager. Natac, a biotechnology company, is at the forefront of sustainable animal nutrition, specializing in the production of botanical extracts and Omega-3 oils.
Max shared that Natac’s mission is not only to excel in producing natural extracts and functional ingredients but also to translate this expertise into viable industrial projects aimed at improving lives. Natac primarily serves premix and additive manufacturers—the leaders in animal nutrition formulation—by providing high-quality, sustainably produced ingredients.
Quality is central to Natac’s philosophy. Their facilities are FAMI-QS and GMP certified, and they have the capability to process up to 3,000 tons of raw material annually. Natac’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in their circular economy approach. For example, they collaborate with olive oil cooperatives to repurpose byproducts into valuable extracts, showcasing how innovative processes can enhance sustainability.
Natac’s R&D efforts further distinguish the company. According to Max, the in-house lab focuses on optimizing extraction methods and providing comprehensive quality control and technical support for clients. Meanwhile, their project department partners with universities and public entities worldwide to advance knowledge and applications of their natural extracts.
When asked about their focus on botanical species, Max emphasized the advantages of natural extracts over synthetic alternatives. These extracts offer proven benefits for animal health, aligning with industry trends toward sustainable and natural solutions.
