New High-Yield Corn Variety Boosts Agricultural Productivity in Peru
The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) in Peru has introduced a breakthrough in agricultural innovation with the release of the new hard yellow corn variety, INIA 608 – ALLIMASARA. Developed by the National Institute of Agricultural Innovation (INIA), this new maize strain promises to revolutionize farming practices and enhance productivity for agricultural producers across the country.
With its superior genetic traits, the INIA 608 – ALLIMASARA variety is expected to increase productivity per hectare by an impressive 40%. This significant boost in yield capacity represents a major breakthrough for the agricultural sector and holds great promise for improving the livelihoods of farmers, particularly those engaged in family agriculture.
One of the key advantages of this new corn variety is its remarkable adaptability to different environmental conditions. Capable of producing yields of up to 6 tons per hectare under dryland conditions and 8 tons per hectare under irrigation, the INIA 608 – ALLIMASARA variety demonstrates its resilience and versatility in various agricultural settings.
