Leading agriculture company Syngenta Indonesia recently received top honors at the Indonesia Technology Excellence Awards 2026, winning in two key categories:
Digital manufacturing and supply chain transformation
The digital manufacturing and supply chain project addresses fragmented systems and manual reporting by integrating automated production equipment, camera-based detection, smart manufacturing infrastructure, end-to-end supply chain processes, and a digital customer loyalty program.
By connecting these areas through real-time data, the initiative provides greater visibility across the value chain, enables earlier detection of quality and process issues, and supports faster, more informed decision-making.
Real-time dashboards and automated workflows have also helped strengthen quality consistency, operational efficiency and supply reliability, whilst enabling a more data-driven way of working and improving responsiveness to customers.
Dual-stacked biotechnology corn hybrids
Meanwhile, Syngenta’s biotechnology corn journey in Indonesia began with the introduction of NK Pendekar Sakti in 2024, developed to help farmers address corn borer infestations and weed competition—two challenges that can contribute to significant yield losses.
The company subsequently expanded its biotechnology corn portfolio with the introduction of NK Sumo Sakti in September 2024 and NK Perkasa Sakti in July 2025.
Adoption of the technology expanded rapidly in the first half of 2026, supported by farmer education and training programs that reached hundreds of thousands of farmers. The technology has demonstrated potential to improve farm profitability by helping reduce yield losses and crop protection costs, while also improving operational efficiency.
As farmers gain greater awareness and experience with the technology, Syngenta continues to support its adoption as part of its commitment to advancing productivity and sustainable growth in Indonesia’s corn sector.
