Vietnam boosts livestock partnership with De Heus and Hung Nhon

Vietnam is advancing high-tech and sustainable livestock production to secure its role in the regional food supply chain. This priority was the focus of a high-level meeting between Minister Trinh Viet Hung and senior executives of Royal De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group.

Held on May 6, 2026, at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment headquarters in Hanoi, the meeting underscored Vietnam’s commitment to modernizing its livestock sector while deepening international partnerships.

De Heus sets 2036 vision for Vietnam

Following its acquisition of CJ Feed & Care’s Asian operations, De Heus is accelerating growth in Vietnam’s livestock industry.

During the meeting, company representatives presented a 2026–2030 investment roadmap supported by a strategic vision extending to 2036. De Heus Group Chairman Co de Heus reaffirmed Vietnam as a key strategic market.

He underscored the company’s long-term commitment by transferring advanced nutritional solutions and modern management technologies to modernize Vietnam’s livestock sector sustainably and efficiently.

Partnership builds circular, digital livestock chain

The partnership between De Heus and Hung Nhon centers on a circular, digitally integrated agricultural value chain. Key priorities include:

✅ Smart farming: Using digital agriculture and big data to optimize efficiency.
✅ Circular economy: Recycling livestock by-products and improving resource utilization to minimize environmental impact.
✅ Export standards: Establishing disease-free zones that meet Halal, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 certifications.

Johan Van Den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam, noted the model ensures safe, traceable food for domestic consumers while unlocking global export opportunities.

Major projects transform Tay Nguyen and Tay Ninh

To date, the De Heus-Hung Nhon partnership has launched and developed 15 major projects across Tay Ninh Province and the Central Highlands region, with total investment capital of approximately USD 472 million. Highlights include poultry slaughtering and processing facilities equipped with advanced European technologies.

Hung Nhon Chairman Vu Manh Hung said the collaboration will raise farmer incomes by integrating them into biosecure production chains.

Looking ahead, the alliance targets:

✅ Revenue: USD 2 billion annually by 2036.
✅ Production: 200 million day-old chicks and 25 million export broilers annually.
✅ Breeding stock: Expanding to 10,000 high-quality grandparent pigs.

Minister Trinh Viet Hung highly praised the cooperation model between De Heus and Hung Nhon as a benchmark for cooperation between international and domestic enterprises.

The ministry pledged continued support through favorable legal and regulatory conditions for high-tech agriculture.

At a separate meeting on the same day, Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang encouraged expansion of the model to Hanoi and nearby provinces, highlighting its socio-economic benefits.
